Yin Yoga targets the deeper tissues of our ligaments, joints, & deep fascial networks. In addition to the physical benefits, the practice of Yin Yoga is designed to build awareness, non-attachment, and contentment. Postures in Yin Yoga are generally lower to the ground and held between 1-5 minutes; while there is not dynamic movement that you see in Vinyasa classes, Yin Yoga is not the same thing as Restorative Yoga; indeed, much of the benefit of this practice is from staying in the 'zone of discomfort.'
Vinyasa Yoga, on the other hand, is a practice of flow. Yoga postures are practiced in a continuous moving fashion, building a sequence that enhances tissue mobility, grace, and coordination.
This innovative class combines the two disciplines for a delicious practice of depth and gentle movement.
All postures are able to modified and props for support are offered. $20 drop in. Package rates are available.
Taught by Laura of Seva Integrated Therapy.
